Features

RSPO certification can help in better resource utilization and systematic management practices that can lead to higher profits, better planning and less post-process verification.
Documents
Palm oil is among the world’s most consumed food ingredients and is utilised in about half of all packaged food products. Through their fruits, oil palms are highly efficient and produce oil year-round. It is the highest-yielding vegetable oil crop, needing less than half the land required by other oil-producing crops to generate the same amount of oil. One hectare planted with oil palms can yield an average of up to six tons of oil per year, helping to make palm oil the least expensive vegetable oil in the world. In 2008, the RSPO developed a set of environmental and social criteria which companies must comply with in order to produce certified sustainable palm oil (CSPO). When properly applied, these criteria can help to minimise negative impacts such as deforestation.
