Marine Stewardship Council
About the standard
The MSC CoC (Chain of Custody) program focuses on certifying the chain of custody for sustainable products from fisheries and/or aquaculture. Companies that obtain this certification must meet specific sustainability and traceability standards, ensuring that products not only come from responsible sources but are also handled properly throughout the process. This helps consumers make informed decisions and supports the conservation of marine ecosystems.
The MSC CoC certification is aimed at companies handling sustainable seafood and aquaculture products. This includes processors, distributors, retailers, and other organizations along the supply chain that wish to demonstrate their commitment to sustainability and traceability of seafood products. The certification guarantees that products come from responsible sources and helps promote sustainable fishing practices.
