    About the standard

Florverde Sustainable Flowers (FSF) is a sustainability standard for the floriculture sector that promotes responsible practices based on three fundamental pillars:

    • Environmental: efficient water use, responsible agrochemical management, and conservation of soils and biodiversity.
    • Social: protection of labor rights, as well as workers’ wellbeing and safety.
    • Economic: responsible business management and continuous improvement.

The standard ensures that certified flowers are produced under verifiable sustainability criteria, complying with legal, environmental, social, and good agricultural practice requirements, thereby contributing to the responsible development of the floriculture sector.

    Certification process

    Application with CUServices

The applicant initiates the process by reviewing the list of certification bodies approved for the Florverde (FSF) program, available at www.florverde.org.
Once the applicant contacts CUServices, CUServices shares the application form.
The applicant submits the completed application form to CUServices for review. CU confirms that all required information is complete. For new applicants, CUServices contacts the FSF Technical and Administrative Secretariat via florverde@florverde.org to confirm whether the applicant is already a registered operator, holds an active or sanctioned status with another certification body (CB), and to verify the applicable scope.

    Contract

Our commercial executives will send you a financial proposal describing the applicable costs. Together with the offer letter, you will receive the Contract Terms. If you agree with the offer, please return a copy signed by the legal representative. Once the contract is signed, you enter into an agreement with CUServices to join our certification program.

    Planning

After receiving payment of the agreed service fee, we will schedule the audit visit. At this stage, you will have the opportunity to complete the audit preparation documents, which will be indicated during this phase of the process.

    Initial Audit / Certification

This is the first audit of a client by CUServices for the FSF Program. The qualified auditor and/or audit team will evaluate your operation against the program requirements. As a result of the audit, non-compliances (NCs) against program requirements may be identified. The lead auditor will inform you of these during the closing meeting and will indicate the deadlines for resolving them. You must submit corrections, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to address the NCs. This information will be evaluated by the auditor, who will determine whether the evidence is sufficient for the effective closure of the non-conformities. Additionally, possible cases that may lead to suspension or denial of certification will be communicated.

    Certification Decision

Based on the audit results and/or the effective closure of findings, the certifier will make a certification decision, granting or denying certification in accordance with the Florverde Sustainable Flowers Regulation.

    Maintenance of Certification

The client must demonstrate continued compliance with the program requirements. Certification audits are conducted annually for certificate renewal, and the previous steps must be completed again. Additionally, CUServices may conduct other types of audits, such as scope extension audits, unannounced audits, investigation audits, or follow-up audits, in accordance with the Regulation to maintain certification. As a result of this process, a decision will be made to maintain, extend, reduce, suspend, or withdraw the granted certification. Pre-audit service

Optionally, Control Union Services offers a Pre-Audit service, which aims to conduct a preliminary verification of compliance with the requirements established by the standard. As a result of this process, an audit report is issued to the client, which will help the (applicant) certificate holder identify opportunities for improvement within their system.

This pre-audit process is independent from the Certification process described in the Florverde Regulation. No certification decision is made based on these results.

If you are interested in this service, please do not hesitate to contact us.
